Tyler's First Lemonade Stand

Our neighborhood garage sale gave Tyler the perfect opportunity to have his first lemonade stand. He asked us if he could sell lemonade and cookies and give all of the money to church so how could we say no?  

He made everything a quarter for easy math. I'm so proud of our little entrepreneur and his giving heart. 

Blankie Thief

All of our kids had the rule their lovey blankets and pacis stay in their crib. Now that Colin is mobile he loves to sneak in his room, reach through the rails, grab them and take off. He knows he isn't supposed to have them and he thinks he is so funny.

 

Birthday Buddies

For my birthday this year (29 again) the boys let me sleep in and Tyler made me my own breakfast menu.

Tyler's First Field Trip

Tyler had his first school field trip today. They visited the thrilling locales Glen Carbon Library and Yonda Log Cabin.

 This is a terrible picture of my shadow over Tyler's face but it's the only one I took. The highlight of the field trip for Tyler was riding a school bus for the first time. He has been looking forward to this for so long! 

Houseguests

Visiting stuffed class and club pets are de rigueur these days and we've had 3 different germ transporters furry visitors recently. The kids love them although I am slightly less enthusiastic about scribing their imaginary adventures in their accompaining journals.

Grandparents Day Lunch

 Tyler's school held a grandparents day lunch today and Glammie rearranged her schedue to be Tyler's special guest (Papa had to work). Thanks Glam!

 

We Have a Walker!

Walking Timeline:

On Tuesday, August 28th Colin started walking around holding just one of our hands.

On Wednesday, August 29th he took a couple of steps from me to Taran.

On Saturday, September 1st he started taking up to 10 steps at a time.

On Wednesday, September 5th Colin starts walking by himself! The boys and I were reading books on the couch while Colin played on the floor. I looked over just as he pull up and then took off walking. In the past he'd only walked from one person to another or from an object to a person. This was the first time he was just doing it all on his own all by himself because he wanted to. Once he realized what he could do he was so excited and really wanted to walk everywhere.

First Day Of Preschool

Preschool starts today!


Both Lucas & Colin will be going to Kids First this year. Lucas will attend Pre-K on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and Colin will attend on Tuesday and Thursdays.

  

I've had lots of mommy guilt about sending my baby off to school! Since he has a later birthday than his brothers he is starting a few months earlier than they did. Plus, he just seems so much younger to me. I just keep remind myself how much his brothers loved it and, frankly, so do I! So we are giving it a try and I can always pull him out if he doesn't seem to like it.

Lucas has the same teachers Tyler did last year, Ms. Jen & Ms. Amy. They are wonderful teachers so I am very excited for him.

Thankfully the inseparable Lucas and Andrew are once again in the same class.

For some reason Lucas was so thrilled to have a nap mat. 

 

I am so happy Colin and Emerson will be in class together. Their teachers are Ms. Brandy & Ms. Shametra. Ms. Brandy was also Tyler's very first teacher and she is amazing! She is loving, fun, creative and the kids learn so much.  The quality of this picture isn't great because I took it spying from outside the doorway but you can see Colin is smiling and seems off to a great start. No tears on day one! I thought it was sweet when Ms. Brandy showed me the bookplate of the book she was reading and it was one donated to the class from Tyler years ago.

Photo Booth Fun

We spent Labor Day with family at the pool. It was too a little chilly for swiming but we had a great day and the kids spent way too much time in the photo booth there.

 

 

 

Slumber Party

The boys stayed the night at the Cochran's house when Colin was born and we thought it would be fun to repay the favor! We let the kids stay up late while we hung out and then Jen and Allan left after tucking the girls in.

Delaney and Tyler feel asleep around 10:30 and slept until 8.

Lucas and Harper took a bit longer to settle down and finally crashed around 11. The were up at 7 and walked around most of the morning holding hands.

In the morning Daddy made everyone pancakes in the shape of their first initial.
