Perfect Park Weather

We’ve had such a beautiful and warm spring this year! After Tyler’s soccer game today we took the boys down the street to my favorite local park, Drost.

Colin loved swinging but I was super nervous without the harness and straps our infant swing has.  He would occasionally flop forward or backward in the swing so I ended up cutting his swing time short.

Twins?

People always comment on how much all of the boys look alike, especially Lucas and Colin. In early baby pictures of Colin and Lucas they did looked pretty similar but now Colin’s face has thinned out and Lucas has always had chubby cheeks.
A look back at the older boys around Colin’s current age:

Everybunny Loved Him

The hare hopped into town today and stopped at Sweeties Confections (smart bunny).
Colin examines him carefully, perhaps wondering why someone who delivers treats to children looks so creepy.
I’m not sure what age the fear of costumed characters sets in but Colin has no stranger danger.
We smiled! Now can we pick out our candy?!

Crumb Covered

Colin was out running errands with me and I tried to squeeze in one more quick stop before heading home for lunch. In the store he started cry and let me know he was getting hungry and was not happy about this plan. I did a quick, desperate search of my purse but all I could find was some of Tyler & Lucas’s crackers. I broke them into little pieces and fed him bites as I grabbed my last few items.
I don’t always  love the older boys eating them, so I cringed giving them to my only child whose  taste buds are still unspoiled. Colin thoroughly enjoyed his highly processed salted food. As I was checking out he got impatient waiting on me and grabbed the  bag and spilled tons of little cracker crumbs everywhere. He loves being thrown around so I ended up turning his car seat upside down (with him in it!)  and giving it a few good shakes to get most of them out.

Bye-Bye Baby Gear Blues

Our house suddenly has a lot more space!

Bye-bye Baby Gear Blues:

The inexplicable feeling of sadness when your baby outgrows all of that gear you have previously been so excited to be free off.

Look at that high kick!

Colin had plenty of entertainment.

Crazy Hair Day

Not the best quality pic, but the only one I took of boys  for Crazy Hair day at school. We did little mohawks with blue hair spray.

8 Months!

Colin is 8 months old!
I tried taking him to Sears for some quick, cheap pictures and my super smiley baby cried every time I tried to set him down. His nap schedule still isn’t predictable so I figured he was getting tired and rescheduled for a few days later.  It appears he just doesn’t like the Edwardsville Sears studio so he was only slightly happier for visit #2. I jumped around like a deranged person finally evoked some smiles and then her camera broke. She was able to get a few more shots on her backup camera before that broke as well! We left with a free CD of  a couple of  pictures she captured.

Boo!

Colin is so entertained by his big brothers. He loves to watch everything they do and Tyler always makes him laugh so much. Here Tyler makes Colin crack up while eliciting a very different reaction from me.

Car Creations

The Daddies (Brian and Allan) took the kiddos to paint little wooden race cars at a Home Depot Kids Workshop. One of my favorite Boden shirts of Tyler’s was ruined by the “washable” paint that has not faded even after an arsenal of  stain sprays, soaks and detergents. Frustrating, but it was probably a small price to pay for the memories the kids made (fun with friends!, crafts with Daddy!, those little orange aprons!), and most importantly, a few hours of peace for Mommy.
